Our Story

Professional musician and educator, Michael Pickering founded Pickering Performing Arts and Entertainment LLC in March 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic that brought life to a standstill. Feeling a need to help provide hope, encouragement, empowerment, optimism, and community, Michael began to provide free music lessons to anyone interested.

The response was overwhelming. After offering free lessons for two weeks and sensing the value of this mission to the community, Pickering began to organize Pickering Creative Artists Academy, initially offering private lessons in keyboard/piano, voice, music production, songwriting, and music business.

Michael's vision to expand Pickering Creative Artists Academy into a 21st century, 360 degree performing arts and entertainment studio, Michael began assembling a cast of multi-talented, passionate, and professional arts and entertainment Instructors and moved into their first commercial location in December 2021. The new studio located at 6920 S Jordan Rd, Suite G in Centennial, CO serves students of all ages and skill levels offering a diverse array of performing arts, digital production, entertainment creation, production, and performance classes, live and digital event experiences.

Founder Biographies

Michael Pickering, M.A., Music Business, ACUE

BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC

Michael Pickering, Founder/Instructor of Pickering Creative Artists Academy, LLC, President and Chief Creative Officer of Lionsong Entertainment, Inc., and former Director and founder of the Music and Entertainment Entrepreneurship program at the Community College of Aurora, is a creative leader, entrepreneur, educator, and musician. He holds a Master of Arts in Music Business Degree and a B.P.S. in Interdisciplinary Music Studies Degree from the Berklee College of Music, a Post-secondary professional certification in Performing Arts, and national certification in Effective Teaching Practices from ACUE (Association of College and University Educators). He has served on the boards of local arts and entertainment organizations, authored post-secondary music curricula, and spoken at many local and national music industry events. He also provides music and entertainment business and performance consulting services. Amy Pickering - B.A., Musical Theatre

Amy Pickering, Vice President of Lionsong Entertainment, Inc., and former Theatre Director at Englewood Middle and High Schools is a performing artist, entrepreneur, educator, and musician. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre Degree from the University of Northern Colorado and is a Colorado State certified K-12 Theatre Teacher. She has served as a private Instructor with local arts and entertainment organizations and has been a featured performer at numerous local, national and international events. Further, Amy is a certified Beachbody Master Trainer, Personal Trainer, and Group Fitness Instructor.
